TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Booking Confirmation
Clients are requested to send 30% of the total cost of the tour in order to guarantee the reservation within two weeks of written confirmation before their safaris. The balance is due 90 days prior to departure.
When to book your Safari
It is better to book as far in advance as possible to ensure availability of rooms and other services, especially during the peak seasons (June to February, and Christmas time). This is especially important for those wishing to travel on private custom-made safaris and those adding extensions to the scheduled trips.
Cancellation
should you cancel the tour within 60 days after your booking is confirmed, the cancellation fee is the total cost of accommodation only.
For cancellation 7 to 30 days before your departure date, 80% will be deducted as cancellation fees.
Last minute (1 to 7 days' notice) cancellations fees are 100% of payment as quoted.
Client(s) will be responsible for any bank transfer charges. If costs after cancellation amount to more than the 30% deposit, we request the outstanding monies within 30 days of written cancellation.
Liabilities and Insurance
Africulture Tanzania only as an agent of the passenger(s) in all matters relating to tours and it accepts no responsibility for any personal illness, injury, accident, death, delay, any kind of loss, damage or irregularity of any kind, which may be occasioned by reason of any act or omission beyond its control, including without limitation, any act of negligence or breach of contract of any third party such as a hotel or airline, who is to, or does supply, any goods or services for business, etc. We recommend that you take out full comprehensive travel insurance to cover you for loss of baggage or valuables, personal accident, medical expenses, or other losses.
Transportation
The Company may, at its discretion, supply Land Cruisers, minibuses, or any other suitable transport subject to weather and terrain conditions (a request for a specific type of vehicle will be considered). All tours start and end in Arusha or Dar es Salaam; in case of any other originating or finishing location please let us know.
Pricing
Price quotations are inclusive of: Airport transfers, transport while on safari, camping or lodge/hotel accommodation charges, meals, park fees, and driver guides. Quotations do not include hotel expenses prior to and at the termination of the tour, alcoholic drinks, tips, or any other item not mentioned in the quotation. Our package price ranges according to the mode of transport, type of accommodation, camping style (standard or luxury), and lodges/hotels from 1 to 5 star ratings.
Payment Method
Africulture Tanzania does accept bank transfers for booking payments. After the prepayment of 30%, the balance is due 90 days prior to departure to our bank account in Arusha.
Camping Safaris
Prices for camping safaris per trip will depend on the number of people in your group. Maximum number in a 4WD vehicle, excluding the driver guide, is four. Since the main purpose of your journey is to admire the spectacular scenery, we arrange for every client to be next to a window and, where necessary, can arrange for an extended vehicle to ensure window seats for all if clients are more than four.
Accommodation
Africulture Tanzania reserves the right to substitute the hotels named in the itinerary when absolutely necessary. To avoid unexpected accommodation changes, early booking will guarantee your first choice.
Additional costs
Our safari packages include all accommodation and meals while on safari, airport transfers, park fees and services of Africulture Tanzania, guides and drivers. It is customary to tip your driver guide, as well as the cooks and staff for safaris, camping and expeditions. You will also pay for your own beverages and personal items like laundry service and phone, and are responsible for any passport and visa fees. We also highly recommend you purchase travel protection insurance. If you foresee indulging in the many delightful Tanzanian souvenirs, or African artefacts, budget accordingly!
Why Africulture Tanzania adventures?
We won’t suggest a camp or lodge to you unless one of us has been there. We have walked with the guides, eaten the food and slept in the beds. We travel every few months to see new properties and to re-visit old favourites. We look at numerous camps on these trips – it is only by actually seeing what is out there that we can be sure we are offering you the best advice. Where possible, we will use small, owner-run camps and lodges so you can experience the bush away from the crowds. We also understand that a guide can make or break your trip. The small camps we use also tend to employ better guides. We will speak to you on your return. We want to hear about your trip and find that client feedback (both good and occasionally bad) helps keep us abreast of changes on the ground. Whether you are an individual, couple, family or a group, we can help you plan your itinerary and ensure that you enjoy Tanzania and the real Africa with absolute confidence and security.
Planning Your Safari Itinerary
We invite you to do your own research using this site, the Sample Safaris links section, and the recommended books for Africa, but if this feels like too much work, call us at +255 (0)784 792 343 or +358466436419 and we can discuss options!
There are countless books written on Africa, and some of them are difficult to get in this country. Included in each section is a list of those that are currently available or that I like personally.
There is such a vast amount of information on the Internet, and in the brochures at the travel agencies, that it is quite difficult to discern the good from the bad, and what really will suit you and your family or travelling partners. Having spent many years here, we can ascertain the logistics required to get to each place, thus maximising value for time and money. We spend a considerable amount of time each year travelling to different places in Africa to inspect them and assess the logistics. We are in a better position than almost anyone to help your safari. As this will be the greatest holiday of your life, it is important to get the maximum value from it.
We do not put groups together. You can choose your travel companions or travel alone if you prefer! We will make a safari work for you whether your group size is 1 or 20! As we are completely independent, we can advise you on the best of every different safari outfitter and operator, which often does NOT mean working through just one operator. We deal direct with the various companies in Africa, so there are no expensive middlemen involved.
Over the years, although humans are on a rapid increase, and game numbers are declining correspondingly, facilities and options to see them have improved too. While this means a lot more tourists in some areas, we focus our advice on trying to find places that are "off the beaten track", away from the minibuses and other tourists, where one can see and enjoy Africa as it always has been. Your trip will need to be perfect so you will tell your friends about us! |
